Adding and removing corporate value

The icon readily identifies a document or any of its versions as a record in your organisation. This means that corporate value has been set. If corporate value has been set for a specific document version, then the original document itself is also identified with the icon. If corporate value is set for a document version, then the original document cannot be deleted from Objective ECM.

You can add and/or remove corporate value from a document version which is in the draft or published state, if you have the appropriate privileges and permissions.

Corporate value can also be set on a document version in a number of ways, when:

  • uploading a new document
  • uploading a new document version
  • releasing a new document version from edit
  • publishing a document.

When a document is in a file and one of its versions has corporate value set, then that version will be added to the file's current file part. The document cannot be deleted until all of its corporate value versions have been sentenced or destroyed. When a document is not in a file and one its versions has corporate value set, then that document and version are retained indefinitely. The only way to delete such a document is to remove the corporate value setting on each version.
