Editing documents
Alongside Objective ECM IQ, Objective provides a Windows program, Objective Director, for a seamless viewing and editing experience. When Objective Director is installed on your Windows desktop, it will handle all downloads and uploads to Objective ECM. It will also monitor documents that are open for editing and will prompt you to release those documents to Objective ECM. This will mean that you can avoid having to be prompted by your browser to open or save documents when using the Objective ECM IQ as you would any other document from a browser. With Objective Director you will be able to open the document directly in the application it was created. It will also enable you to release a document from editing directly to Objective ECM without having the extra step of uploading it from your desktop.
Editing a document using Objective ECM IQ is a 4-step process:
- Open a document for editing
- Edit the document in the application it was created in (for example Microsoft Word)
- Release the newly edited draft document
- (Optional) Publish the final draft to all users.
