Opening a document for editing
When editing a document you will create a new version of it, make your changes and then release the document to Objective
Note: When you edit a new version of a document, it is locked to you and other users are unable to make changes to it.
- Go to the document you wish to edit.

Expand the document card and select .

for the object card then .Or select from the document’s Details page.
Note: If you are using an iOS tablet, when you select , the document is not automatically downloaded and opened. This is a limitation of Safari not handling hidden iframes where the application is processing the download on its own.
So to get around this, after selecting , go to the document’s Details page and select to download the document manually. -
In the Edit new version dialog box, optionally, enter a reason for editing the document.
This reason is kept with the document version history so that you can track all document changes.

Select .
If you have Objective Director installed, the document automatically opens in the application it was created, ready for you to edit.
If you do not have Objective Director installed, the document will be downloaded then you must save it to your local drive before opening and editing it in the application it was created.
Note: If your internet browser blocks popups, you will need to enable popups for the Objective
- Edit the document.
- Save and close the document.

Release and publish the document.
If you have Objective Director installed, the document is automatically saved to Objective
If you do not have Objective Director installed, the document must be saved to your desktop before it can be uploaded to Objective
