Editing 'depends on' linked documents
Only the parent document of 'depends on' linked documents is identified with an icon. When the parent document is edited, the child documents are also placed in the Objective Director cache.

Open and edit the parent document.
- If needed, find then open and edit the child 'depends on' linked documents.

Save and release the child 'depends on' linked documents.
These are released as individual documents and the extra step for the linked documents is not displayed during the release.
- Save and release the parent document.

On the Release from edit dialog box for the parent document, enter a reason for the new version or edit the reason you entered when you first started editing.
The Release from edit dialog box lets you know that there are linked documents being released.

Select your publishing options.
- To release the document as a published version, tick the Immediately publish checkbox.
- To identify the version as a record in your organisation, tick the Set corporate value checkbox.
If you do not choose a publishing option, the document version is added to Objective

Select to confirm the release.
The default action for the parent document will be and there will be listed for the child 'depends on' linked documents as they were already released separately.

The Release from edit dialog box shows the progress of the release.
