Editing 'compound with' linked documents
The parent and child 'compound with' linked documents are identified with an icon. When the parent document is edited the child documents are also placed in Objective Director's cache. All linked documents - parent and child - will be identified with an 
icon and are locked for editing by you.

Open and edit the parent document.
All the child linked documents are placed in the Objective Director cache ready for editing.
- Edit the child linked documents as needed.
- Save and close all the documents.

On the Release from edit dialog box, enter a reason for the new version or edit the reason you entered when you first started editing.
The Release from edit dialog box for the parent document lets you know that there are linked documents being released.

Select your publishing options.
- To release the document as a published version, tick the Immediately publish checkbox.
- To identify the version as a record in your organisation, tick the Set corporate value checkbox.
If you do not choose a publishing option, the document version is added to Objective

Select to confirm the release.
The action for the parent and child linked document will be if changes have been made to any of the documents.
There will be listed for the child linked documents if they were not edited.

The Release from edit dialog box shows the progress of the release.
- Select on successful completion.
You can only change the link type of child 'compound with' linked documents when you release the parent linked document from editing. On the second screen of the Release from edit dialog box, the Link type can be either or compounds with as selected from the drop-down.
