Adding links to existing documents
You are able to add documents to Objective ECM that already include links to other documents on your local device
You can add 'depends on' or 'compound with' new linked documents to existing Objective ECM documents.

- Find and go to an Objective ECM document to which you wish to link to other documents.
- Open and edit a new version of the Objective ECM document.
- Include links to the other documents, as necessary, from your local device.
- Save all the documents.

Close the application for the Objective ECM document to display the Release from edit dialog box.
The Release from edit dialog box will state that the document is linked to other documents.
- Enter a reason for the new version or edit the reason you entered when you first started editing the document.

Select the publishing options:
- To release the document as a published version, tick the Immediately publish checkbox.
- To identify the version as a record in your organisation, tick the Set corporate value checkbox.
If you do not choose a publishing option, the document version is added to Objective ECM as a draft.
- Select Next.

Choose whether to add the linked child documents:
- Add as new - new objects added to Objective ECM with a unique object ID, or
- No action - objects are not added to Objective ECM.
- Select the appropriate Link type for each child linked document - either or .
- Select Next.
- Upload each of the new child linked documents.

Select Release.
The Release from edit dialog box shows the progress of the release.
- Select Close on successful completion.
