Copying objects

When you copy an object, Objective ECM assigns a unique object ID to the copy so that it can be tracked separately from the original. To duplicate objects, you copy an object to its original location.

If the name of the object that you are copying matches the name of an existing object in the same folder, the word "copy" is added to the object name. For example, a document named proposal.docx will be copied as proposal copy.docx.

You can copy all object types (except file and repository) as long as you have ‘Open’ privilege for the object. To copy the object into another container requires ‘Create’ privilege.
