Viewing objects shared in Objective Connect

Sharing objects with anyone, inside or outside your firewall is easy if you have access to Objective Objective Connect. With Objective Connect you can create a secure, private workspace to collaborate with partners on projects, manage your outsourced service providers or share documents with external parties.

If an object has been shared in an Objective Connect workspace, it is easily identified on the Content pane of Objective ECM by an icon next to the object icon.

Your organisation should have already either:

  • connected to a Hosted Objective Connect Link for Objective ECM or
  • installed and configured on-prem Objective Connect Link for Objective ECM appropriately for use in your organisation.

You will then be able to access Objective Connect open collaboration and/or publication workspaces.

Hovering your cursor over the icon displays the number of active Objective Connect workspaces that the object has been shared with.

On an object’s Details page, from the Connect workspace section you can view the Objective Connect workspaces where the object is actively being shared and the closed workspaces where the object used to be shared.

All workspace participants are able to go to the parent Objective ECM folder that was shared with the Objective Connect workspace.

  1. On an object's Details page, expand the Connect workspaces section.
  2. Select More button for a listed workspace then Go to shared folder.

As a workspace owner, you can go to the Objective Connect workspace directly from Objective ECM.

  1. On an object's Details page, expand the Connect workspaces section.
  2. Select More button for an Open workspace then Go to workspace.
  3. Log into Objective Connect to display the selected workspace.

As a workspace owner you can view details about a workspace.

  1. On an object's Details page, expand the Connect workspaces section.
  2. Select to either view a list of Open or Closed workspaces.

  3. Expand a selected workspace card to view details for the:

    • workspace owner
    • date the workspace was created
    • number of workspace participants

    • (if your organisation is using Hosted Objective Connect Link) workspace type - collaboration or publication

      • Collaboration means you can upload documents to the workspace from both Objective ECM and Objective Connect. Additionally, draft/published documents in Objective ECM will get synced to Objective Connect.
      • Publication means you can only upload from Objective Connect and only published documents in Objective Connect will get synced to Objective Connect.
    • (if your organisation is using on-prem Objective Connect Link) participant count
    • date the workspace was closed (for closed workspaces only).

    Tip:  Closed workspaces cannot be accessed from Objective ECM.

    Note:  If you see a "Workspace unavailable" message in the Connect workspaces section it means that either: 
    - You do not have permission to view the workspace, or
    - The workspace was deleted from Objective ECM.
