Viewing document details

There will be times when it would be useful to know the details of a document you are working on in a Microsoft Office application without having to access its properties from Objective ECM. The Information panel, opens to the right of the Microsoft Office document when you select Document details, displaying its associated metadata including its current version status and the time it was opened. It also includes the last time Document details was selected which acts to refresh the data in the Information panel. The Information panel also provides a link to view the document in Objective ECM so that when the document version is out-of-date you can download the current version.

1. Open the Objective ECM document from the Microsoft Office application.

   The selected document opens in read-only mode.

2. From the Objective ECM section of the Home ribbon, select Document details.

   The Information panel displays to the right of the Microsoft Office application Content pane. You will be able to view the document’s properties, such as Objective Object ID, owner of the document, version number, the date it was created and its publishing state.

   Provided you have saved your Microsoft Office document to Objective ECM you can select View in browser to open the Details page of your Microsoft Office document in Objective ECM IQ.
