Searching and selecting catalogue field values from third-party applications

If a third-party application is integrated with Objective ECM, you can select catalogue field values from that application. For example, you can insert a customer name and ID from your customer service management system.

Make sure that your object is using a catalogue that is configured to work with the third-party application. You can either assign a catalogue when uploading an object or from an object's Details page. Contact your administrator if you are unsure which catalogue to use.

Edit catalogue fields.

You can edit catalogue field either when uploading an object or by going to its Details page and editing the catalogue.
Select Search or if you wish to add a new set of fields, select Add Field Group and then Search. This takes you to the application from which you wish to select values.
If you are logging in for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your username and password.

After successful authentication, a Search dialog box is displayed. The name of this dialog box depends on how the application is configured to interact with Objective ECM. For example, Search via Pathway name and address registry.
Select Search type. Search types depend on your configuration. For example, Name enquiry.
Enter your search criteria. For example, in Pathway, if you wish to search for all names starting with A, enter A*. You can enter multiple search criteria.
Select Search.

Search results are displayed on the right.
Select as many results as you wish by clicking in them. To unselect, click on it again.
When you have finished, select Use Selected.

A field group is inserted for every result selected.

Note that these values will not get updated in Objective ECM when they are changed in the third-party application.
