Creating an exchange link

An Exchange link is a link between Microsoft Outlook folders and Objective ECM folders. Once this link is established, all emails (including attachments) residing in or added to Microsoft Outlook folders, are automatically added as one or more Objective documents.

  1. Find or go to the folder that you wish to link to Microsoft Exchange.

  2. Select More button for the folder in the Content pane, then More actions > Link to exchange to open the Create exchange link dialog box.

    Or select More button located in the top right of the Summary section of the folder’s Details page, then Link to Exchange.

  3. Enter a Name for the Exchange link.

    The new Exchange link will be stored with this name in My Home > Special Folder > Exchange Links.

    Note:  By default, in your Microsoft Outlook Inbox, the Exchange link folder will be created using the Objective ECM folder name (or as defined in the ECM\config\AeC\AeCConf.xml file) and not by the Exchange link name.

  4. If you wish to store any enclosed attachments separately to the email, tick the Attachments stored separately checkbox.

    By default, any attachments will be embedded with the email.

  5. Select if you want to publish the email attachments when they’re added to Objective ECM, tick the Attachments published checkbox.
  6. Enter a Description.
  7. Select Create.
